Going on a trip in the vicinity of Nice sounds nice? Then, allow me to suggest some destinations less than 2 hours away from Nice by car or train.

The Ondes Beach (30 minutes car ride)

Spend the weekend at the Ondes Beach located at the Antibes Cap.

Forget about the shingles of the Promenade des Anglais and enjoy a relaxing afternoon as you tan on the warm sand instead.

The unique feature on this beach are the ruins of a fake observation tower by the water. Children love it!

By spending a night there, you can also enjoy a nice night stroll by the Port Vauban (the port of Antibes).

If you are more likely to enjoy a relaxing nap by the waterside, give water beaches a try starting with the Galetas Beach.

For a more affordable ride, you may also take a water bus from the Cannes port. It costs €16 per adult and €10 per child.

Monaco also is a great place to treat yourself, the city being full of luxurious hotels, restaurants, and boutiques. Some may prefer to go window shopping and end the day by eating the best truffle focaccia in Monaco at Amici Miei.

Going on a trip to Grasse is an actual breath of fresh air.

It is especially known for being the perfume capital of the world. That is why I suggest you go visit the Fragonard historical perfume factory. Fun fact: the tour is completely free.

Go for a stroll in the old town center and get lost through its colorful maze of houses. There are plenty of spots for you to take pictures and save this moment forever as you leave with many memories.

Take a trip to Saint-Paul-de-Vence and explore a Provençal village in an authentic setting.

It might not look like much, but this small town is actually very appreciated by art enthusiasts. In the town center, you can visit The Maght Contemporary Art Foundation as well as the Bartoux Vieux Saint-Paul contemporary gallery.

There are also plenty of handicraft boutiques downtown for you to bring home a souvenir from this weekend.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence is also the perfect place to visit vineyards and taste the local wine.

Saint-Tropez is the perfect place to go for a shopping spree. Therefore, I recommend you plan a shopping budget in advance to treat yourself as you walk by the different luxury boutiques in the city center.

You can also wander around the port and take a look at all the luxurious yachts which are emblematic of Saint-Tropez.

In the late afternoon, head towards the Place des Lices to enjoy a homemade tarte tropézienne (a local dessert pastry with brioche and vanilla pastry cream).

There is too much to do in Saint-Tropez not to say for the night!

Want to go for a trip to a charming baroque village? Then, I suggest you go on a walk down the old Menton town center and pass by theSaint-Michel-Archange Basilica.

Art enthusiasts will appreciate visiting the Jean Cocteau Museum before heading to the daily market at Place Saint-Roch. There, you can buy Menton’s specialties as well as flowers and all kinds of trinkets.

By spending the night in Menton, you can even spend the next day going hiking in the nearby mountains.

During your visit, you will even be able to cross an authentic drawbridge to access the center of the village.
