Winter

The Weather in December, January, and February

Winter weather in Paris is generally cool and damp. Temperatures often vary between 35°F (2°C) and 46°F (8°C), with cold days and even cooler nights, so get ready to bundle up!

As for precipitation, expect a fair amount of rain throughout the season. You may also encounter fog, which gives the city a mysterious atmosphere. Occasionally, a few snowflakes grace the capital, but heavy snowfall is rare.

Cold winds can make the days sting more, but don’t worry, every now and then the sun comes out, lighting up the Parisian streets. It’s the perfect time to enjoy a break on a terrace or take a stroll in the park, wrapped up in your scarf and coat!

What to Wear

In Paris during the winter you need to dress warm to brave the cold and damp weather!

The trick: layer your clothes with a sweater or cardigan under a thick coat to stay warm.

Spring

The Weather in March, April, and May

In spring, Paris wakes up to pleasantly mild temperatures. In March, temperatures are still a little cool, from 39°F (4°C) to 55°F (13°C), but as soon as April rolls around, the weather gradually warms up, and in May, the thermometer flirts with 68°F (20°C)!

The days get longer, and the first rays of sunshine begin to warm the atmosphere. Of course, a few rain showers may still make an appearance, but they are often interspersed with sunny spells.

    More Tips

    Going Out in the Evening

The great thing about Paris is that it’s the fashion capital of the world. With a little confidence, you can dare to wear anything! You just have to adapt to the occasion.

You can opt for an elegant outfit for a night out at a club or restaurant, or don a soccer shirt in a sports bar on match day!

Parisians know how to make any outfit chic, so don’t hesitate to prioritize your comfort when going out at night!

    For Special Occasions

Paris doesn’t shy away from dressing up, so if you’ve got a crazy outfit in the back of your closet, this is the perfect place to pull it out.

Whether it’s a wedding or an evening at the opera, Paris always gives you a good excuse to dress up!

    Accessories to Complete Your Outfit

It’s all very well having a chic, elegant or casual but stylish outfit, but where do you put your wallet, phone or keys?

In Paris, you shouldn’t leave your belongings unattended, as pickpockets are active, whether you’re a local or tourist!

So add a touch of style to your look with a practical bag. Whether it’s a handbag, shoulder bag or clutch, there are plenty of options to match your outfits. Gentlemen, you can also opt for a leather or canvas bag for a practical, yet elegant look!

How Not to Look Like a Tourist in Paris

    Choose Discreet Accessories

Parisians love subtle accessories, like elegant watches or delicate jewelry, such as small earrings. Avoid flashy, over-the-top accessories or berets, which are more of a cliché than a local favorite!

    Avoid Themed Clothing

T-shirts with tourist motifs or outfits in the colors of the French flag are to be avoided if you want to go unnoticed!

    Mix Styles

Combine casual pieces with more elegant clothing for a balanced look. For example, wear a blazer jacket over a basic T-shirt, or dress pants with sneakers.
