Taiyaki Paris
240 Rue Saint-Jacques, 75005 Paris
Voir cette publication sur Instagram
Firstly, a quick lesson on Japanese Taiyaki: taiyaki actually means “cooked sea bream” (sea bream being a sign of luck in Japan).
Don’t worry, it has only kept the name (not the taste). Originally it was filled with anko, a sweet red bean paste, but over time the Japanese developed the custard, chocolate and even a savory version.
You may have already seen some on the networks as these marvels are increasingly exported.
At Taiyaki Paris you can also try sweet recipes with a plain or chocolate waffle in which you can add whatever you like (anko, vanilla cream, Nutella, chestnut cream, peanut butter, or even the ice cream flavor of your choice) and then add a topping (strawberry, chocolate or caramel, speculoos, Oreo, pralines or M&M’s)
Or you can try some savory recipes; you will have four possibilities. Ham and honey, goat cheese and honey, Philadelphia and dried tomatoes or hot dog style with ketchup and mustard.
Something to please all taste buds, even the vegetarians!

Rose Bakery
46 rue des Martyrs (Paris 9th)

At Rose Bakery the food is healthy, comfortable and seasonal. This small, typically Parisian cantine found itself in the international desserts category thanks to its incredible homemade carrot cake.
In Paris, people never stop talking about it because it reminds us of the flavor of the carrot cakes in Notting Hill.

Maison Gazelle
160 Bd Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris
Voir cette publication sur Instagram
Oriental pastry lovers, forget everything you know about the sugar-coated Algerian gazelle horns and discover the Moroccan gazelle horns at Maison Gazelle.
Much thinner than Algerian gazelle horns, they come in 7 flavors (orange blossom / rose water / lemon and cardamom / Bronte pistachio / roasted almonds and sesame seeds / cocoa and bergamot / Piedmont hazelnut) and are accompanied by cold-pressed almond milk or ice cream.
The main advantage is that everything is prepared from carefully selected products in Morocco (Roussi almonds, Riffi almonds, Beldi almonds…). And that’s not all! The pure orange blossom water is distilled by hand between Fez and Casablanca, as is the rose water. A top-of-the-range gazelle horn that is worth the detour.

Unique Creations
Privé de Dessert
4 rue Lallier (Paris 9)
Voir cette publication sur Instagram
Privé de Dessert will shake up everything you thought you knew about pastry. Here it is better not to trust appearances because everything you eat will be savory. Yes, you read that right, no need to refresh the page.
On the menu:
For starters, at Privé de Dessert you can choose between the Paris-Brest (with duck breast), the chocolate pie (in fact with chicken confit and its cocoa chicken juice), the opera (salmon berries and barley bread), the milkshake (tomato and mozza gazpacho) and the pancakes (blinis and sea bream ceviche).
As for the dishes, it’s Saint-Honoré (burger), waffle, banana split (red tuna and roasted plantain) or crumble (cod with vegetables and Thai sauce, covered with a savory, crumble of course).
What about dessert then? Well, the desserts are named after the dishes: you’ll have to decide between the hotpot (pudding), the spaghetti carbonare (lemon meringue pie) or the fried egg. This Caribbean-influenced dish is actually composed of a white chocolate and coconut mousse, a mango-passion cream and shortbread.

Le Comptoir du Ritz Paris
38 Rue Cambon, Paris, France
Voir cette publication sur Instagram
You might say that the quality follows the name, and you are not wrong. Le Comptoir du Ritz is neither more nor less than the pastry shop/tea room of the hotel located a few steps away from it. As you will have understood, the decoration is nice and luxurious, the tea room is chic: in short, French charm.
The real originality is introduced by the chef François Perret: the drinkable pastries. In fact, in addition to being able to choose from a range of exceptional pastries, you can also choose from 3 pastry drinks: Madeleine, Cake Marbré or Barquette Caramel.
A novelty that overturns the dogmas of French gastronomy.

Cupkie
26 Rue Monge, Paris, France
Voir cette publication sur Instagram
This American phenomenon has crossed the Atlantic to set up residence in rue Monge in Paris. At first, the raw cookie dough (also called Cookie Dough) evoked nothing more than a Ben and Jerry’s flavor. Today you can enjoy it on the spot or to go.
The first question is whether this raw dough is digestible? Well, yes, because the homemade recipes are egg-free, gluten-free, sweetener-free, low in sugar and made from a special flour that is heat-treated to prevent bacteria.
The brand offers a multitude of toppings (chocolate chips, meringue, caramel chips, hazelnuts, pecans, cereals, granola, kiwi, banana, strawberry, raspberry, hazelnut praline, deer chips, Kinder Bueno, puffed rice…) as well as six ice cream flavors.
As the old saying goes, “Better late than never”.
So what are you waiting for?

La Taverne de Zhao

The Taverne de Zhao is a small Chinese restaurant with a garish red façade (a bit old-fashioned, I grant you). Right now you’re thinking: We were talking about desserts at the beginning, why is she talking about an Asian restaurant?
Well, this restaurant has become a favorite since its Green Tea Flan has been posted on the internet.
So, at La Taverne de Zhao, even if it’s not the point of this article, you can eat traditional and authentic Chinese dishes, but above all: you can taste this sweet floral dessert.

VG
123 boulevard Voltaire, Paris, France

Although it is often referred to as the oldest vegetarian pastry shop in Paris, like Vegan Folie’s, this shop is nevertheless quite different from the previous one.
Here the vegan objective is cleverly taken up since the pastries such as the ones seen in the window resemble traditional French pastries.
No cupcakes, cookies or carrot cakes, but rather Trianon chocolat, Macaron mûres-violettes, Tarte tatin à la mangue, Paris Brest, Chausson aux pommes.
Enough to trap even the die-hard Gauls.

Land and Monkeys
86 Bd Beaumarchais, Paris, France
Voir cette publication sur Instagram
Coming from an “intuitively vegetarian” family, Rodolphe Landemaine, an accomplished baker and pastry chef, now covers the capital and its surroundings with his 15 shops and 250 employees.
Previously, this chef had already secretly included a few vegan recipes in his shops, but he needed something more distinct; that’s when Land and Monkeys was born. A real revolution in the land of the croissant.
A very wide range of products that copies the entire offer of an excellent Parisian bakery… with zero animal products. Even Pierre Hermé was blown away.
