When planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, you want to go well prepared so that you aren’t missing anything when you get to the park. Unfortunately, most of us end up taking too much stuff. To avoid this situation, here is our list of must-haves for a day at Disneyland Paris.
Before we get into the details, here is a checklist of the essentials you need for a perfect escapade:

13 Things to Not Forget
1) Tickets and Disney Passes

Whether they are your tickets to enter the park or your transportation tickets, always keep them on hand.
If you happen to own a Disney Pass, do not forget to take it with you as well.
Some passes give you discounts in the Park’s shops and restaurants that you don’t want to miss out on!
2) A small backpack
For a day at Disneyland, I recommend bringing a small backpack (approximately 10L) to carry all your essentials.
A waterproof backpack is even better if you can find one. It’ll help keep your stuff dry during aquatic rides (Pirates of the Caribbean, for instance).
3) A power bank
Power banks are very practical because they allow us to charge our electronic devices without having to plug them into a power outlet.
They come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. They’re also easy to slide into your pocket, which is useful if you want to keep your phone within reach.
Just make sure to charge them before your trip, and don’t forget your cable!
4) Your wallet and a form of payment
Don’t forget to bring your wallet and at least one form of payment.
This can be a debit card, cash, or both. Both are accepted in the park.
A credit or debit card might be a bit more useful in certain cases, however, and it is also safer to not have too much cash in your wallet.
5) Comfortable shoes
A day at Disneyland Paris requires a great deal of walking.
Therefore, we advise you to wear good walking shoes like sneakers.
You will be much less likely to have sore feet at the end of the day!
6) A refillable water bottle
Considering the cost of water bottles in the park (around €2 for a small 33cL bottle), bringing your own water bottle is a great alternative.
We recommend taking a refillable water bottle, especially on hot days. If you fill it up with cold water, your water will remain cold for a little longer.
The park has drinking water fountains where you can fill up your bottle throughout the day.
7) Snacks
The park sells many different snacks: mini churros, Star Wars themed macarons, and more.
They can be a bit pricey, however: a Star Wars themed macaron costs around €5.
Therefore, bringing your own snacks for the day is a great option, especially if you have children.
Just be sure to bring snacks that don’t take too much space and that are wrapped and dry to keep your bag clean (granola bars, dried fruit, etc.).
8) Sunscreen
Many of us go to Disneyland Paris to take a breath of fresh air. And while we enjoy spending time in the sun, we neither want nor need sunburns.
Therefore, it is important to have sunscreen with you, particularly when the sun is out.
9) An umbrella
In Paris, no matter the season, the weather can be a bit unpredictable.
To ensure that you stay dry, you should always carry an umbrella.
Many umbrellas today are retractable, which is very handy because it’s easier to put them in a small bag.
Another piece of advice: bring a small plastic bag to put your wet umbrella in so you’ll be able to store your umbrella in your bag without soaking your other belongings.
10) Tissues
We don’t think we need to tell you how tissues work, but we thought it was important to put them on the list.
Whether it’s to blow your nose, wipe your face, or dry off the splattered water from an aquatic ride (Pirates of the Caribbean), having tissues with you is a good thing regardless of the weather.
11) A pen and a notebook
At Disneyland Paris you will meet many iconic characters from the Disney franchise, and you can ask any of them for an autograph.
If you want to keep their signatures as a souvenir, be sure to bring a pen and a notebook with you.
This notebook can also meet other needs. For example, it’s a good way to keep your kids entertained during lunch time. They will have something to draw on, and you’ll be able to eat in peace!
12) A hat
If the day you go to Disneyland happens to be sunny, don’t forget to put on a hat.
It will protect your head from the sun while you are waiting in line for a ride.
13) Hand sanitizer
With all the rides in the park, I recommend bringing hand sanitizer.
It will allow you to clean your hands after a ride or before eating.
But, just like your sunscreen, I recommend taking a small bottle that will be easy to store in your bag.
3 Things That Are Optional
1) A camera
If you want to memorialize your day at Disneyland Paris with pictures, you can bring a camera.
Just make sure to bring a compact camera with plenty of internal storage.
It will be easier for you to store a smaller camera, and you won’t need to bring additional cables to transfer your photos if the internal storage is large enough.
2) Hair ties
Disneyland Paris is an amusement park with plenty of big thrill rides.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Hollywood Tower Hotel, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror are just a few of the options.
With the constant movement you’ll experience on this kind of ride, you’ll probably want to tie your hair up so you are not bothered by it.
3) A fanny pack
Unlike the small backpack mentioned at the beginning of this article, a fanny pack can be tied around your waist. This makes it easier to hide it.
You can also put the bag at the front of your body so it is always in your sight.
If you decide to bring a fanny pack with you, I suggest putting personal items like your wallet and smartphone inside.
4 Things to Leave at Home
1) Valuables
Disneyland Paris is an amusement park with many different rides, including big thrill ones like the Indiana Jones roller coaster.
With all the movement on such rides, it’s easy to lose valuable jewelry.
2) Too many clothes
We don’t recommend bringing any more luggage than you need. Over packing will only slow you down!
We advise you not to pack “just-in-case” clothes.
If the weather is a concern for you, be sure to check it beforehand and to bring clothes that are not too cold and not too warm so you can stay comfortable no matter the weather.
3) Your kids’ teddy bears
If your kids have teddy bears, it’s probably better to not bring them to the park.
Just like your valuables, you might lose them in the park. To avoid this traumatic experience for your child, I highly recommend leaving beloved toys at home for the day.
4) A stroller
If you’re planning on visiting the park with your entire family, do not bring your own stroller.
There is a place to rent strollers and wheelchairs right next to the entrance of the park.
