How do Parisians dress at the beginning of every year?
Well, rather warmly, especially in the morning and evening.
But with the average temperature being around 9°C (48.2°F), it is not surprising to find Parisians in cafés rather than wandering in the streets. Especially in a cloudy (sometimes rainy) weather. It is only around mid-January that they come out to enjoy the winter crisp under a timid sun. For the earliest ones, you will still be able to see the Christmas lights during the first week or so of January. After that, it’s over until next December!
The perfect Parisian clothes for January?
A beanie and a scarf are a classic. A thick coat to be armed against the wind and misty rain, and a sweater are also essentials!
For those who plan on waking up early in the morning to enjoy their stay to the fullest; or will stay late at night to enjoy Paris’ lights: a good sweater is a must as well. While the weather is very chilly in the afternoon, in the morning and at night it will make you shiver!
You may even witness some snow if you’re lucky, so, make closed shoes your first choice.

The month of love, in the capital of… love. So, what will it be for all the lovers out there? A romantic walk in one of the city’s many parks or a candlelit dinner?
Why not both?
Colder than January, February’s temperatures are around 4°C (39.2°F) on average. There are even mornings where the temperatures go under 0°C (32°F).
February is perfect for lovers of cold and dry weather; ones which calls for a well-deserved rest at night, in front of a nice and warm cup of coffee, or a typical French meal that bloats your stomach nice and wide!
All in all, the weather is much like love: sometimes there are rainy days. But don’t worry though, everything comes back quickly to normal with sunny ones. The end of the month is a little chillier, with temperatures around 0°C (32°F), and being under the sun is much appreciated.
So, it’s the same as January for the outfits, but don’t be scared of changing habits. Don’t be scared to go outside to enjoy the invigorating air of the year’s second month!

There’s no doubting it now, spring is coming.
Temperature rises to around 9°C (48.2°F) during the first weeks, and sometimes even reaches a comfortable zone such as 14°C (52°F). But March’s sudden downpours are here and the weather is capricious.
So, if you want a two-in-one trip, we advise you to come in March. Paris will be going through British weather. Rain, bright sun, clouds everything is there in one day! Especially at the beginning of the month. Then, weather becomes warmer at the end of the month and offers softer temperatures as spring starts to blossom.
So, get rid of those big sweaters, but don’t forget your umbrella, just in case, because (pro-tip) : water gets you wet…

“April showers bring May flowers.”
But not quite in Paris. As the month of April is usually not as rainy as its cloudy sky may make it seem, as mid-April. In fact, the temperature gets as high as 15°C (59°F) in the morning and 23°C (73.4°F) during the day. It is the ideal weather to discover the city.
Regarding the beginning of the month, it is still quite chilly with 10/12°C (50/53.6°F) in the morning, but it quickly reaches around 16°C (60.8°F) in the afternoon. Nevertheless, Paris shows its outside atmosphere, on the cafés’ terraces and in the streets, and this is only but the beginning.
Therefore, the period is fit for a little fewer clothes, but you will still need some nice warm clothes with for the beginning of the month. It would be a pity to catch a cold now! In the evening, a quick stop for a hot coffee or cocoa is more than well deserved and appreciated.

Ah, May! Very well known in France for its many public holidays.
And it’s for the best! The days are finally starting to get really warmer – on average, 16/20°C (60.8/68°F) which can even rise up to 27°C (80.6°F) at the end of the month. The days are so full of sun you won’t know what to do with them, as clouds start to run away to leave us a beautiful blue sky. How about the rain? Very little. Perfect to enjoy the city’s great and open spaces.
Farewell hot drinks, here comes the time for refreshing beverages. With June just around the corner, the end of May is going to be nothing but pleasant.
No more coats, scarves nor big sweaters but don’t forget to bring some warm clothes, as evenings and mornings are still quite cool.

It’s almost summer, and you can both see and feel it.
The Parisian fauna takes over parks and streets: the city and its surroundings are both busy and lively.
With temperatures reaching almost 20°C (68°F) in the morning and around 25°C (77°F) during the day, you can’t help but feel reinvigorated! You will encounter a few spots of rain at the beginning of the month but not much. The sun is definitely there, behind a few clouds.
But you will have to wait until the end of the month for completely blue skies when it overflows with sun and temperatures are fit for terraces, rests and city discovery.
You can definitely leave your coats in the closet at the end of the month, as it is close to 25/30°C (77/86°F). You can even start to wear your shorts again and expose your knees to those sunrays that they have most probably missed!

If a sunny weather is what you want, then you will be happy!
July in Paris means temperatures around 25/30°C (77/86°F) on average. Not quite suffocating yet, but hot enough to make you appreciate air conditioners, or some shadow, during the day’s hottest hours. There will be sun for the whole month and a few, nice, refreshing summer storms here and there as well -a which gives you a reason to visit one of the many museums in Paris without guilt.
The dress code is: shorts, sandals, and t-shirts. Light and comfortable fabrics are a must-wear!

August is also very hot as summer reaches its pinnacle. Temperatures peak at around 33°C (91.4°F) with some cooler days around 25°C (77°F). There is very little rain. The air isn’t heavy but dry, so staying under the shadow and hydrating yourself properly is important during the hottest hours of the day.
Sun lovers will be delighted and the use of sunscreen is required.
Finally, we won’t get away from the few summer storms. they are polite though, as they mainly break out during the night, so that you can enjoy a nice and refreshing day the next morning. The end of the month stays stable and temperatures slowly lower as to welcome September.
Just like in July: shorts, sandals, and light fabrics are on. We would advise the most vulnerable to stay inside on the hottest hours of the day and enjoy the museum’s and touristic places’ coolness. A good reason to visit Parisian churches and cathedrals: because while stone keeps the cold, art warms the soul.

“Back 2 School” month still has it regarding weather and temperature. There are a lot of beautiful days left to enjoy! There is little rain and the temperature is milder than the previous month, setting at around 25°C (77°F) at the beginning of the month.
Mid-September announces autumn by falling down to 20°C (68°F) and Paris is leaving its summer frivolity but has not yet put on its autumn cloak. The strong touristic season has just finished. The off-peak period is starting, calmer, less busy, perfect for those who like to travel in peace.
You will still be able to enjoy your summer clothes for a little while at the beginning of September – but beware! The weather is getting colder, especially in the evening. Shorts start to be hard to wear at the end of the month.

In October autumn starts to make itself at home. It’s getting cooler which is actually nice after an intense, hot summer. The beginning of the month, though, stays very nice -around 20°C (68°F) with a sometimes cloudy, sometimes blue, sky which the sun has not left yet. It is only around mid-October that it starts to get cold. Lovers of milder temperatures, hurry up!
Because afterward, you’ll have to make room for cozy coats, scarves and comforting hot drinks enthusiasts! Because autumn really is here. The capital’s temperatures hardly go over 15°C(59°F).
The wind stirs up the dead leaves which paint the capital of a yellow-orange. Halloween is near, as Paris dresses in its colors, so beware of trick-or-treaters!
No need to wear wool and big socks yet, as the weather stays kind. Just cover yourself up a little more at the beginning of the month and leave those shorts in the closet. By mid-October, it is with pleasure that warmer and comfier clothes are welcomed!

As a transition between autumn and winter, November is not the most charming month. Winter is not there yet but it is quite cold in Paris. Temperatures are around 12°C (53.6°F) on average at the beginning of the month and will stay around 10°C (50°F), sometimes less, for the rest of it.
Autumn really is here and rain and clouds are often there. For Paris to shine with a new charm, one will have to wait for December, the month of winter.

In the morning, the sun is shy and hides behind a white veil. No, snowy days aren’t there yet (although…), but fog is, making París mysterious and encouraging you to discover its secrets.
Throughout the month, it’s the omnipresence of the sun that illuminates the days. In the evening, it’s the holiday season lights that illuminate the night. On the Champs-Elysées, amongst other places, temporary Christmas markets compete with shopping malls and skating rinks, as ephemeral, reopen.
