The first thing in sight when one arrives in Niort is the Saint-Andre church that proudly stands on the highest hill in town. Another attraction and the tast remnant of the castle, the Niort Dungeon hosts today an ethnological and archeological museum. From the top of this flagship building, you can have a scenic view on the whole town. Finally, enjoy a walk along the Green Trail (Coulee Verte) which will lead you from the town centre up to the famous Marais Poitevin (Poitevin Swamp).
