At the heart of the Alpilles range, Saint-Remy-de-Provence is a typical Provençal village, with its boules players and colourful markets.
Saint-Remy-de-Provence shows its antique relics in the site of Glanum, where you can see the Mausoleum of Julius and the Triumphal Arch. This is the southern French city in which Van Gogh painted some of his masterpieces. The Hotel Mistral of Mondragon houses the Museum of the Alpilles of Saint-Remy-de-Provence. It is one of the finest museums in Provence and is devoted to folk art and rural heritage.
