The most famous monument of Evreux is the Cathedral of Notre-Dame with its 16th-century stained glass windows. Evreux is a town of history, with many Gallo-Roman remains such as Roman roads, ramparts or a bath complex. The landscape around Evreux is dotted by mills that were powered by the Iton, the river that flows through the city. In the former Episcopal palace of Evreux, you can see a superb museum with archaeological collections.
