From the city centre, take the sentier des Crêtes to admire one of the finest panoramas of the gulf of Ajaccio. At the heart of the city, the Museum of Corsican and Mediterranean History of Ajaccio tells the story of the city through rare documents, coats of arms, costumes, ancient currency and models. Ajaccio is the city of Napoleon Bonaparte and his memory hovers over it. Many places are devoted to him.
The little markets of Ajaccio are the place to go to taste the best Corsican products - cheese, charcuterie and fritters.
