Hendaye is a seaside resort in the Basque Country situated between the sea and the mountains, on the Atlantic Coast. Standing facing the ocean, the Castle of Abbadia watches over Hendaye. It houses an old astronomical observator. A walk along the bay road will take you from France into Spain as you admire the Bay of Txingudi. Every May, Hendaye organises the three-day festival "Le Mai du Theatre", with numerous theatrical performances, both professional and amateur.
