Saumur is a city located on the banks of the Loire and is called the Pearl of Anjou. With its famous Riding school founded under Louis XIV, Saumur is the city of the horse. The Chateau of the Dukes of Anjou of Saumur now houses the Museum of Decorative Arts, which presents collections relating to ceramics and horses. Saumur is also reputed for its famous Dolmen de Bagneux, one of the most majestic Dolmens in France - 23 metres long and 18 metres high!
