The seaside resort of Le Treport is situated at the edge of the English Channel, and its outstanding feature is its pebble beach at the foot of the chalk cliffs. It is at Le Treport that we find the highest chalk cliffs in Europe. And the town shows show this natural feature to its best advantage by illuminating it at nightfall. Every year at Whitsuntide, Le Treport organises a Mussel Fair. Over a tonne of the seafood is served during this culinary and musical festival. Recently the Le Treport funicular railway has reopened, giving easier access from the lower town to the Terrasses, at the top of the cliffs.
