Tourist Information
The Bourse de Paris (Stock Exchange) was founded in 1724 under the reign of King Louis XV, who wished to bring some order to the country's economy. Today, the Paris Stock Exchange is situated in the Palais Brongniart, a building built at Napoleon I's request at the beginning of the 1800s. For very many years, prices at the Paris Stock Exchange were given by the dealers by open outcry. It is now much more modern and, since 2000, it has grouped together the stock exchanges of 3 major European capitals.
