Tourist Information
In the heart of Paris, on the site of the former Les Halles market, is the Halles Forum. Partially underground, a shopping mall connects with the Regional Express Train Network (the "RER" in French), more than 20m below the surface.
The former Halles Baltard market was demolished in 1971, enabling the construction of the giant underground rail station.
The shopping mall was opened in 1979. On four levels, more than 200 brands have set up shop, including sports stores, cinemas, home improvement stores, perfumeries and clothing stores.
The number of people passing through the Les Halles Forum (150,000 each day) is due to the underground transportation hub, the massive visitor car parks as well as the attractiveness of the area to young people. A major refresh has been underway over the last few years as the Forum had deteriorated prematurely.
The draw of this neighborhood is enhanced by its openness to pedestrian traffic in particular.
During your trip to Paris, around the Les Halles Forum, France Hotel Guide can offer you a range of luxury hotels, boutique hotels, charming hotels and budget hotels.
