Tourist Information
The Louvre Museum is a former Royal Palace. Today it is City of Paris's most illustrious museum with over 35,000 works on show. The Louvre is situated in a beautiful part of the Capital, along the banks of the Seine and a stone's throw from the Jardin des Tuileries. It is at the Louvre that we can admire some of the world's greatest works of art. The Mona Lisa, Liberty Guiding the People, The Oath of the Horatii or The Victory of Samothrace fill the public with wonderment. At the centre of the Cour Napoléon (Napoleon Courtyard) stands the Pyramide du Louvre, an imposing glass and metal construction, which today forms the entrance to the museum. http://www.louvre.fr/
