During the last years of his life, the famous sculptor Rodin was a resident of the Hôtel Biron at 77 rue de Varenne in the VIIth arrondissement of Paris. When he died, Rodin bequeathed all his work to the state and made it known that he wished to create a museum bearing his name and presenting his work. The National Rodin Museum opened its doors on 4 August 1919 within the walls of the Hôtel Biron. Here you can see drawings, paintings and sculptures by the artist including the most famous, "The Thinker" and "The Kiss". In the garden of the Hôtel Biron, as you walk along the paths, you will see a number of bronze or marble statues. A room at the Museum is also devoted to Camille Claudel, as well as other artists who were friends of the painter. You can also see works by Van Gogh or Renoir. The Hôtel Biron houses the largest collection of Rodin's work. http://www.musee-rodin.fr/
