Tourist Information
It is at the heart of the Latin Quarter that we find the exceptional Musée du Moyen-Âge, the museum of the Middle Ages. Its important collection is divided between two monuments, the Gallo-Roman thermal baths and the Hôtel des Abbés de Cluny. This Museum was founded by the state in 1843 thanks to a donation by Alexandre Du Sommerard, a man with a great passion for the Middle Ages. This collection, constantly being enriched, covers fifteen centuries of history from Roman Gaul to the beginning of the XVth century. The Musée du Moyen-Âge contains unique pieces such as for example the famous Lady and the Unicorn tapestry, but also a collection of very varied items, weapons, costumes, coins. To discover this history-filled place, take the Metro to the Vth arrondissement of Paris, station Cluny-La Sorbonne. http://www.musee-moyenage.fr/
