At the intersection of the Boulevard Haussmann and the Boulevard Malesherbes, in Paris's 8th arrondissement, the Place St Augustin is dominated by the imposing Church of St Augustine, which was built by Balthard between 1860 and 1871 and by the multi-service French National Officers' Club, which dates from 1927.
