Tourist Information
Located to the north of Paris in the community of Saint Denis, the Stade de France is France's largest stadium, with a capacity of 81,338 seats (for football, rugby, concerts and shows). Its capacity is 70,000 seats for track and field meets. The Stade de France was opened on January 28 1998.
The Stade de France is the home stadium of the French national football and rugby teams.
Despite its closeness to highways, the number of parking places is limited. On the other hand, two RER lines, the Metro and a very large number of bus lines serve the stadium. The most modern infrastructure was built in to the stadium from the start and therefore it has hosted giant concerts since it first opened, from artists such as Johnny Hallyday, the Rolling Stones and Céline Dion. Some concerts have even attracted audiences of more than 200,000!
